What rapid estimates of Georgia’s economic growth coming from Geostat show so far is that the real GDP growth rate in June 2022 amounted to 7.2 percent YoY and 10.5 percent in January-June of 2022 YoY. In June 2022 the estimated real growth compared to the same period of the previous year was observed in the following activities: Transportation and storage, Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, Information and communication, Hotels and restaurants, Mining and quarrying. A decline was registered in Manufacturing, Construction and Real estate activities.

Georgia’s outlook from the IMF will come later but the umbrella title for the global economic growth - Gloomy and More Uncertain - does not sound encouraging. The one thing we have to keep in mind though, is that outlooks are changing very fast, according to the high uncertainty that still keeps on.
