In March 2019, Georgian export amounted to 321 million USD, which is more by 12.3% compared to the indicator of March 2018.
According to the official report published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), March was the most active month of 2019 in regards to export.
The same report reads that there is a decrease in import. In March 2018 Georgian import amounted to 844 million USD, whereas in March 2019 it fell to 740 million USD, which gives us a 104 million USD decrease.
Overall trade turnover amounted to 2,807,000,000 million USD in January-March period of 2019. This indicator is less by 0.1% compared to the same period of last year. From this indicator, 826 million USD substitutes to export (12.8% increase), whereas 1.98 billion USD to import (4.7% decrease).
In the same period of this year, negative trade balance amounted to 1.15 billion USD, which is 41.1% of foreign trade turnover.
