Georgia receives $154 mln in remittances in July 2019

Georgia received $154.5 million from abroad in July 2019, which is 7% more than the amount in July 2018, says the National Bank of Georgia.

Russia ($38.98 million), Italy ($20.87 million) and Greece ($16.96 million) were the largest remittance senders in July 2019.

Overall, the vast majority (94.2%) of all money transfers from abroad came from 18 countries.

After Russia, Italy and, Greece other countries regularly sending money transfers to Georgia in July 2019 included:

1) United States – $15.94 million
2) Israel – $14.35 million
3) Turkey – $8.66 million
4) Spain – $4.52 million
5) Germany – $4.36 million
6) Ukraine – $3.96 million
7) Poland – $2.95 million
8) France – $2.48 million
9) Kazakhstan – $2.20 million
10) Azerbaijan – $2.11 million
11) Kyrgyzstan – $1.91 million
12) Cyprus – $1.48 million
13) United Kingdom – $1.36 million
14) Canada – $1.31 million
15) Armenia - $1.10 million

In July 2019, remittances leaving Georgia totalled $19.2 million, as compared to $18.9 million in June 2018.
