The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georiga made her first comment regarding the events that occurred in Pankisi Gorge on April 21.
The Minister gave the journalist a short answer and stated that the situation in Pankisi is now normalized.
“We are happy that the process is normalized. We are all working in this direction”, stated Turnava.
On April 21, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia sent police forces in Pankisi Gorge, because of the protest from local population regarding the construction of Hydro Power Plant (HPP) ‘Khadori 3”.
Interior Minister, Giorgi Gakharia stated that this happened after the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia requested it. Minister also explained that the police was there to ensure the order.
The construction of HPP remains to be seized.
