Tourists Spent $169 Million in Georgia in February 2019

According to the report published by the National Bank of Georgia, foreign visitors in Georgia have spent 169 million USD in February 2018. This is more by 7.4 million USD compared to the same period of last year.

Regarding January-February data, the amount spent by tourists was 333 million USD, which equals to 885 million GEL.

According to the data suggested by the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, 496,545 visitors entered Georgia, out of which 247,400 stayed for more than 24 hours. This is more by 5.1% compared to last year. According to international classification, visitors who stay in the country for more than 24 hours and use the services offered by this sector (hotels, services and etc.) are considered as tourists.

Rating of the countries where most tourists come from:
• Azerbaijan - 83,51 visits, indicator not changed;
• Armenia - 70,078 visits, decrease by 10.7%;
• Russia - 69,675 visits, increase by 14.7%’
• Turkey - 61,594 visits, decrease by -19.8%
• Ukraine - 10,122 visits, increase by 13.1%
• Iran - 7,549 visits, decrease by -48.4%
• Israel - 7,153 visits, increase by 198.4%
• India - 3,527 visits, increase by 26.8%
• Philippines - 3,252 visits, increase by 11.0%
• Kazakhstan -2,768 visits, increase by 34.4%
