Top 10 Imported and Exported Goods of Georgia in 2019

The National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) published the information about Georgia’s export and import in the first two months period of 2019. In January and February import amounted to 1.23 billion USD, which more by 0.1% compared to the same period of last year.

As for the export, it amounted to 505 million USD, which is more by 13% compared to the same period of last year. According to statistics, copper are and concentrates top the list of 10 largest exported goods, followed by re-export of cars.

List of top 10 exported goods of Georgia
1. Copper ore – 78 million USD, 4.3% y/y increase
2. Auto exports (re-export) - 56 million USD, 47.8% y/y increase
3. Ferroalloys – 51 million USD, 4.7% y/y increase
4. Wines – 33.4 million USD, 25.2% y/y increase
5. Medicines – 28.5 million USD, 66.6% y/y increase
6. Nitric fertilizers – 23.3 million USD, 1.7% y/y increase
7. Spirits – 18.4 million USD, 17.7% y/y increase
8. Mineral waters – 17.8 million USD, 29.9% y/y increase
9. Nuts and walnuts – 17.6 million USD, 77% y/y increase
10. Gold – 10.9 million USD, 23.8% y/y decrease

According to the data provided by Geostat, oil and oil products top the list of 10 largest imported good of Georgia. Natural gas takes the second place in the list, followed by copper ores and concentrates:

1. Oil and oil products - 101 million USD, 7% y/y decrease,
2. Natural Gas - 88 million USD, 2.8% y/y increase,
3. Copper Ores – 71.9 million USD, 16.6% y/y increase,
4. Automobiles – 67.5 million USD, 5.7% y/y decrease,
5. Medicines – 52.2 million USD, 52% y/y increase,
6. Mobile phones – 23.9 million USD, 18% y/y decrease,
7. Wheat – 15.6 million USD, 20% y/y decrease,
8. Electric energy - 9 million USD, 13% y/y decrease,
9. Tires – 14.2 million USD, 26% y/y increase,
10. Cigarettes – 13.5 million USD, 22.9% y/y increase,
