The First International Forum and Festival Newon of Night Economy are held in Tbilisi

"International Forum of Tbilisi Night Economy" will be held on November 30 and 1st December, under the guidance of Night Economy Development Project of Tbilisi City Hall.

Prior to the forum, a press conference was held, which was attended by Sergi Gvarjaladze, Head of the Economy Development Project of Tbilisi City Hall and Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Sofio Khuntsaria.

As it was mentioned at the press conference, within the frames of the 1st International Forum of Night Economy, the capital is visited by night mayors and relevant experts of urban development and cultural management. Representatives of nine countries are attending the event.

"There is a huge interest towards the event. I would like to thank our guests - mayors and managers of night economic. We have been working on a strategic document for several months and their involvement in the process is very important. They have already passed all the stages that we are going through today. The night economy should be the most tangible for Tbilisi residents. We have already appointed a "night bus", which is used by citizens employed in the capital. Tbilisi has a great potential in terms of development of night economy. It is important to support small entrepreneurs, as well as involvement of the creative industry in the development of club life. It is important for us to study the content component of each district, for which a large-scale internal research is planned, "said Sophio Khuntsaria.

Pursuant to her, within the scope of the International Forum of Night Economics, the festival – Newon is held for the first time, which is oriented on displaying Georgian artists and their works. The location of the festival is newly rehabilitated industrial art hub ELEKTROWERK.

"The Night Economic Development Project needs conceptualized strategic steps. We have already elaborated some issues and we want to discuss with all stakeholders, how Tbilisi night economy should be developed in order to make concrete steps after discussions, talks, and meetings. The forum and the festival will be held within two days, the interest towards which is very big. It is also important for us to be high engagement in the process, "said Sergi Gvarjaladze.

"The purpose of the International Forum of Tbilisi Night Economy" is the participation of representatives of different fields, creation of broad dialogue and strategy on urban planning and proper management,   popularization of local culture, involvement of people employed in various fields in cultural life of the city, presenting of Tbilisi with a different sight as well as to find various ways to revitalize the unknown places and to activate the city.

Within the scope of the event, local and international speakers along with professionals and experts of various fields will share their experiences to the guests.
