90 electric busses are planned to be brought to Tbilisi – the Financial Director of Tbilisi Transport Company, Irma Arevadze announced on the television programme ‘Women’s Narrative’. According to her, before the end of 2019, the transportation will be renewed. Out of existing busses, 550 busses need to be replaced. As of February 2019, the replacement of the busses will begin gradually. According to her, a tender will be announced for an additional 220 busses. Arevadze states that negotiations are on-going with the Asian Development Bank to finance 150 busses, which will be operating on gas. Arevadze also mentioned that there are plans to bring 90 electronic busses in Tbilisi. As for long-term plans, Irma Arevadze states that due to the high demand, additional 200-300 new busses will be introduced in the city within the next two years.
