According to the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, the number of visitors decreased by 0.4% in February 2019 compared to the same period of last year.
The border of Georgia was crossed 469,545 times in February. The National Tourism Administration of Georgia reports that the decrease is connected to fewer number of visitors from Armenia, Turkey and Iran.
In regards to tourists, meaning people who stayed in Georgia for more than 24 hours, the indicator has risen by 5.1%. 235, 712 tourists entered Georgia in February 2018, whereas in February 2019 – 247,705 tourists.
The division of the number of tourists by nationalities:
1. Azerbaijan - 83,51 visits, indicator unchanged compare to the same period of last year - 0.0%;
2. Armenia - 70,078 visits, decrease - 10.7%;
3. Russia - 69,675 visits, increase - 14.7%’
4. Turkey - 61,594 visits, decrease -19.8%
5. Ukraine - 10,122 visits, increase - 13.1%
6. Iran - 7,549 visits, decrease - 48.4%
7. Israel - 7,153 visits, increase - 198.4%
8. India - 3,527 visits, increase - 26.8%
9. Philippines - 3,252 visits, increase - 11.0%
10. Kazakhstan -2,768 visits, increase - 34.4%
