New Rule Enforced for Replacing Foreign Driver’s License with Georgian license

A new rule has been enforced for replacing a foreign driver’s license with a Georgian one. As explained in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to the new regulation, in order to change the license acquired abroad with a Georgian one, it is necessary to have stayed (lived) in the country continuously for 185 days throughout one year, before applying for the license. “This regulation is consistent with the Directives of the European Parliament and of the Council of Europe and will support establishing equal approach during the process of changing the license issued by any foreign states”, - explained in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
