Former Chair and Deputy Chair of the TBC Bank, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, went to the Parliament to discuss the TBC Bank case together with MPs. At the hearing of Budget and Finance Committee Khazaradze delivered the speech explaining their position in regards to previous events around this case.
Responding to one of the questions from MPs, Khazaradze pointed out that he had received a letter containing threats from Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia

“The most important aspect of this story is the injustice that took place against one individual. The letter [which was received by Khazaradze from Interior Minister] is one of the small fragments of this story. This might be important fragment for you as politicians and that is why I am confirming this with full responsibility, because I acknowledge the responsibility I have in front of the Parliament and I know where I’m standing.
Believe me, I am not trying to make any scandalous announcements, because I have mentioned that there was a threat in my interrogation report. Unfortunately, that was followed by the press conference during which it was stated that we are associated with money laundering. The press conference was afterwards followed by an orchestrated attack. It is an orchestrated attack when one state institution and another state institution are implementing the same type of policy against individuals.”, stated Khazaradze

Speaking to journalists, Giorgi Gakharia commented on this accusation and stated that that Khazaradze’s speech was an attempt to gain immunity.
“This was an attempt of one privileged businessman to gossip from the tribune of the Parliament. I don’t write letters, if I have something to say, I say it directly to person’s face – especially when it concerns working relations. Privilege has to end in this country once and for all. Speaking publicly with the blackmail tone in politics has to come to an end. Everybody will pay for their responsibilities, as well as their words.

This is the attempt to gain immunity. In regards to going to the Parliament, I’ve been there on numerous occasions and I will go again with pleasure.”
Apart from the abovementioned accusations, Khazaradze also mentioned that TBC bank was the victim of cyberattacks. According to Khazaradze, he sent 5 letters regarding this to MIA to which the Ministry reacted only a week ago.

“It is a strange coincidence that when some institutions enter our bank, we are becoming the victims of cyberattacks. TBC Bank is distincted from others with high technology innovations and we have 400 talented young people who are focused on creating new products. We not only defended ourselves from this attack, but found the exact address, computers and rooms from where this signal was coming form.

We have sent five letters with detailed information about this to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. One week ago I received the letter from some investigator stating that the computers are taken for expertise. We know the address, the rooms and the people who were sitting at those computers. Taking into account the last period, these are probably the offices from where the bots are directed against us.”, stated Khazaradze
This was not the first time Japaridze and Khazaradze went to the Parliament to discuss TBC Bank Case.

At the end of the hearing, Chair of Budget and Finance Committee, Irakli Kovzanadze stated that he is ready invite Interior Minister, Giorgi Gakharia, as well as NBG President, Koba Gvenetadze at the committee hearing.

Movement for Liberty – European Georgia also expressed the willingness to invite Interior Minister at the Parliament, whereas United National Movement has demanded the resignation of Giorgi Gakharia.
