“The government doesn’t work enough with investors,” – stated Koba Nakopia, MP and businessman, to BM.ge.

According to him, the government should be working with investors 7/24, but it doesn’t and “that is why we have what we have – the intensity of investing doesn’t increase”.
Besides, Nakopia notes that one of the main problems is that investors aren’t informed.

In his opinion, it is necessary that the government and ambassadors work with investors individually.

“What do the embassies do?! They don’t seem to be busily involved in some significant political issues to spare time for investors. If doesn’t work otherwise, they should develop a motivation or bonus system for every attracted investor,” – stated Nakopia.

The MP says that in the recent years no major corporation has come to work in Georgia.

“Why shouldn’t major corporations work in Georgia? Why is there nobody to talk to them? Why don’t we offer special conditions to Mercedes, for example? Is there anybody to do that? Why don’t they attend Road Shows anymore? Where are ready investment projects to be offered to investors?” – says Nakopia.

According to him, any configuration can be submitted to the government sessions, which could be interesting for investors and brings them to Georgia.

Besides, according to Nakopia, Georgia doesn’t make use of the chances existing in the region.

“I have a friend in Ukraine, when the war started, he moved his business to Slovakia. Why should investors from neighboring countries be looking for other countries? Why shouldn’t Georgia make use of such situations and offer our country to investors? If you offer them advantageous conditions, I don’t think they would think about other countries,” – states the businessman.
