Interim President of Venezuela Juan Guaido has thanked the Georgian government for its support in the fight of the Venezuelan people for freedom and democracy.

Venezuela likely to revoke recognition of Georgian occupied regions if interim gov’t preserves power
Guado made the statement during his meeting with Georgian Ambassador to Brazil David Solomonia, on the sidelines of the 11th foreign ministerial of the Lima Group composed of 14 countries in Bogota yesterday, assembled to find solutions to the political and economic crisis in Venezuela.

Guaido stated … that the existing humanitarian crisis in Venezuela will end soon with the support of the international community. He also expressed hope that the political crises created by Maduro’s regime will be defeated through the democratic transition of power,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry says.

The latest meeting in Bogota comes amid the severe humanitarian crisis in the country as Maduro’s illegitimate government, which came to power after the fabrication of elections, prevened international humanitarian aid from entering the country, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reports.

The Bogota meeting ended with a declaration in which the 14 countries expressed readiness to provide humanitarian and political support for the interim government and the Venezuelan people.

The interim government of Venezuela is likely to revoke the recognition of the two Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) as independent republics when officially elected.

Only Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Nauru and Syria have recognised the regions as independent states since the Russia-Georgia war in 2008, with the influence of Russia.

The rest of the international community says that the regions are occupied by Russia.
