Georgia’s Economic Growth Reaches 4.7% in 2018

The National Statistics Office of Georgia published its annual report on GDP. According to the report, the economic growth reached 4.7%. This is less by 0.3% compared to the 5% forecast of the government of Georgia.

Report emphasizes that the overall value of GDP in 2019 amounted to 41,077,500,000 GEL. Per individual this indicator is narrowed down to 16,207 GEL, which equals 4,345 USD. The deflator of GDP amounted to 3.6% in 2018.

Economic growth by different sectors of economy:

• Agriculture - increase 0.7%;
• Mining industry - increase 7.6%;
• Processing industry - increase 3.2%;
• Energy sector - increase 0.1%;
• Household processing of products - increase 2.8%;
• Construction - decrease 3.1% ;
• Trade - increase 5.9%;
• Hotels and Restaurants - increase 9.7%;
• Transport - increase 9.4%;
• Communication - increase 5.8%;
• Financial Activity - increase 13.5%
• Real estate operations, leasing and services for customers - increase 12.1%;
• Conditional rent of private property - increase 1.2%;
• State administration - increase 0.9%;
• Education - increase 3.4%;
• Healthcare and social aid - increase 6.2%;
• Provision of communal, social and personal services - increase 13.2%;
• Indirect assessment of financial mediation service - increase 12.2%.
