The multinational military exercise is led by the Georgian side and United States Army Europe. Agile Spirit 2019 is aimed at strengthening the security in the Black Sea region, as well as increasing interoperability between the participant countries.
Troops and exercise staff will join forces at training grounds in the country between 27 July-9 August, after planners agreed principal questions for this year’s manoeuvres at a week-long planning conference in Tbilisi.
The exercise will be led by the Ministry of Defence of Georgia and the United States European Command and serve to improve defence capability of Georgian defence forces and their interoperability with NATO and partnering states.
The planning for the Multinational Military Exercise was opened in November 2018.
In 2018 Georgia has hosted multinational military exercise Noble Partner. 13 countries took part in the multinational exercise: Georgia, USA, UK, Germany, Estonia, France, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
