OECD will conduct the research on Georgia's investment policy

Ekaterine Mikabadze, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, officially opened the meeting dedicated to launching of the Investment Policy Review (IPR) of Georgia by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Ekaterine Mikabadze, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, stated that the investment policy aims to study the investment policy in the country. According to her, the reforms that have already been implemented undoubtedly facilitated the establishment of the attractive investment and business climate in the country, but there is always a ground for further development and improvement.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development will conduct the research upon the request of the Government of Georgia. Following its completion, additional list of reforms and measures will be offered to the Government aimed at further enhancement of the investment climate in Georgia.

“The research will help us to attract additional investments and thus make it possible to become one of the most competitive economies in the region, which will eventually reflect on inclusive growth as well as the welfare of our citizens,” – Ekaterine Mikabadze stated.

The main objectives of the Investment Policy Review (IPR) of Georgia by the Organization for are the study of Georgian business and investment environment, determining the priorities of the reforms implemented in the country and promoting the awareness of the international investment community.
