Georgian student won silver medal on International Physics Olympiad

In Lisbon, Portugal, 49th Students’ International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) completed, where Georgia was represented by a group of five students. According to the information provided by the Ministry of Education, the Vekua School student Zurab Jashi showed the best results in the competition and obtained the silver medal.

It is notable that last year, at the same Olympiad in Bangladesh, Zurab Jashi won the bronze medal. Recognition certificates were granted to Komarov school students Davit Mdinaradze and Alexander Merabishvili.

The Physics Students’ Olympiad is the most prestigious among school contests and this year, 400 students from 80 countries participated to it.
